Brovary – city of regional submission, the center of the same district. It is placed on the line of highway Kiev – Moscow in 20 km from Kiev. Railway passes through the city.
The area of cityis 34 sq.km, that makes 3,2 % from the general territory of region, water resources – 12 hectares, the population are made with 87,4 thousand person.
The Body of local self-management – Brovarian city council.
For the first time Brovary are mentioned in documentary sources in 1630.
The name «Brovary», obviously, is connected with the presence of brewing here.
